The Rev. Dr. John A. Nunes, president, Lutheran World Relief, gives a brief overview of meetings scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, on behalf of the Lutheran Malaria Initiative. Lutheran leaders from the United States, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania and Mali will meet with members of Congress to encourage ongoing support for the fight to end malaria deaths in Africa by 2015, commit that fighting malaria will be a foreign policy priority, and support the Lutheran Malaria Initiative’s recommendation to provide funding in the FY13 budget to fund U.S. bilateral malaria programs.
