“We are in another disaster situation,” says the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. “We know you will be very generous for the dear people suffering in Oklahoma.” Watch this video and see Harrison and the Rev. Dr. John Fale, associate executive director of the LCMS’ Mercy Operations Group, discuss the LCMS response to the Oklahoma tornado and how you can help.
“The LCMS, working through the local congregation and district, provides an immediate response of relief, a transitional phase of response and a long-term phase that will likely go two or three years out,” says Fale. “As local congregations participate in relief efforts in the community, it opens the door of the congregation as people are grateful for the love and care they receive from that local congregation. People from the community — who had been unchurched — come to the congregation to learn more about this Savior who has loved us and shown us His care.”
