Ready. Set. Go! LCMS sends 34 new missionaries to the four corners of the globe. This Divine Service with Holy Communion at the LCMS International Center in St. Louis includes the official installation and sending of 34 new missionaries into service in locations around the world.

John Fale, associate executive director of the LCMS’ Mercy Operations Group, is onsite at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Moore, Okla., meeting with church leaders and the LCMS Oklahoma District disaster coordinator to “map out the next steps for the disaster response here for the immediate, transitional and long-term needs.”

The Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison, president of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, explains Martin Luther’s ITCP method of prayer, which features four steps: instruction, thanksgiving, confession and prayer. Harrison also recommends “A Simple Way to Pray,” which Luther penned in 1535 after his barber and friend, Peter Beskendorf, asked for some practical guidance on how to pray. “Luther’s little book on prayer will revolutionize your prayer life,” said Harrison.
