Laura Livengood, member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Washington, Ill., tells how she and her husband were compelled to help those severely affected by the Nov. 17 tornado that tore through their town. The Livengood’s home was only slightly damaged by the tornado, but seeing how their neighbors had lost so much, they hauled their grill to the debris field, fired it up and began serving hotdogs to the struggling families and relief workers in the area. They were prepared to serve 125 hotdogs, but listen to the video to hear how that number swelled to 500. To learn more about LCMS Disaster Response and how you can help with relief efforts, visit
